Paolo Pesce was born in Mira (province of Venice) in 1959. He currently lives and works between Tuscany and Venice. Pesce is an autodidact artist who, falling in love with Tuscany, has found in its landscapes and colours the inspiration for his fantastic workpieces. His originality is reinforced by the technique he uses: the artist prepares the base with a layer of quartz powder mixed with rabbit skin glue; then paints with oil colours finishing with a wax patina. “The landscapes and still life paintings of Paolo Pesce, due to the excellent quality of design (the figurative base of his work) united with his clear cut imagery and unique shading technique reminiscent of the renaissance masters, lead the imagination to a world of nature and objects. The soft and luminous tones of his palette that expand space and volume, highlight, mignificiently, the sense of each view hovering in time and magic.” Paolo Bellini
