The artist Marco Bonechi, before discovering a love of architecture as a means of expressing creativity and scrupulously researching classicism throughout history, began his artistic career in the 1960s, painting landscapes. His technical foundations emerge in the open spaces of his paintings, joyful representations of paradisiacal landscapes, famed for harmonic equilibrist qualities. The presence of architecture in his watercolours is a logical evolution of his interests, and possesses the rounded qualities of the works of the genial Piranesi, while citing the classical styles of the Renaissance. The “vedutismo” by Marco Bonechi enters into a style of classicism followed by Palladio, Pousin and Lorraine, which flows into the minute details of Canaletto, and from this last artist assumes the concept of “vedutismo”. Marco Bonechi, as a true craftsman, imagines a time where the scenography of the theatre tries to create the public areas of the city, conducive to interpersonal relationships but likened to an enormous space of the theatre where the evolution of these fabulous ideas take their first steps. It is from this scenographic direction that from his capable hands new life is breathed into an art touched by the ancients, sustained through the centuries by men with strong, creative personalities, capable of making it fertile and resplendent up to modern times and from this comes the charm, the cuts, the scratches, the decisive incisions and the acid biting into the slab at the will of the creator, these becomes for us fine lines, agile sketching, soft colour blending, expressions of imagition, sparks of inspiration which lift us up to infinity.
